Belarusian Patent Office
The Patent Office of the Republic of Belarus is known as the National Centre of Intellectual Property attached to the National Committee of Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus.
First laws of the Republic of Belarus on protection of IP objects were passed in the year 2003. The law on Copyrights and Contiguous Rights was adopted in 1996.
Pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No 66 of February 12, 2004, protection of rights on IP objects is provided by the National Centre of Intellectual Property acting under the Regulation No 641 adopted by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus on May 31, 2004.
